Apollo Crews has yet to find his footing on the main roster despite some excellent matches here and there, so the mega-talented Superstar returned to NXT this week to challenge the undefeated Kushida.

Unfortunately, the match didn't go Apollo's way, and despite coming close to claiming victory a couple of times, he ultimately fell victim to the former New Japan star's excruciating Hoverboard Lock and tapped out.

Even so, Crews said returning to the black and gold brand was "exactly what he needed" during a post-match interview.

It remains to be seen of Apollo sticks around or this was juts a one-off, but from the sounds of the crow reaction the NXT faithful would be only too happy to welcome him back to the fold on a full-time basis.
