In recent weeks, we've seen WWE begin to treat NXT like a third brand rather than a developmental one. It's all in an effort to increase viewership before WWE starts looking to secure a lucrative new television deal and The Judgement Day has been taking centre stage lately.

During last night's episode of NXT, Dominik Mysterio squared off with NXT North American Champion Wes Lee and managed to steal the title from the fan-favourite babyface.

With Finn Balor distracting the referee, Damian Priest attempted to take out Lee but got sent packing by the babyface. However, the chaos which ensued meant Rhea Ripley could hit him with her Women's World Championship, giving Dominik the chance to pick up the 1-2-3!

Now, NXT has a new North American Champion in "Dirty" Dom.

Lee had been scheduled to defend the title against Mustafa Ali at the Great American Bash show on June 30, and it looks like the match is still on, albeit with Dominik now taking Lee's place (unless we're getting a Triple Threat Match).

The Judgement Day is currently riding high and Balor is set to once again challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam next month. Many fans believe Priest will cash in on his ally if he wins, but time will tell on that front.

Needless to say, we're now expecting to see plenty of Dom and his newly won title on RAW and NXT in the weeks ahead.

Check out some highlights from NXT below.
