Once again, NXT has a loaded line-up that features three Interim NXT Cruiserweight Title Tournament matches. Last week, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa pulled off a hard-fought victory over Isiash “Swerve” Scott.
Tonight, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese hopes to do the same as he’ll take on Kushida. Since dropping the belt to Drew Gulak at Stomping Grounds last year, the 34-year-old’s stock has fallen a bit thanks to his failure to recapture the magic he had in early 2019; however, with a new opportunity at championship gold, will Tony Nese step up again by first overcoming former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Kushida?
Also, two new debuts are set as El Hijo Del Fantasma and Jake Atlas have finally arrived. With Fantasma being a former AAA World Cruiserweight Champion and CMLL World Middleweight Champion, and Atlas being a PCW ULTRA Light Heavyweight Champion, both men are no strangers to being on top of the mountain.
However, Jack Gallagher and Drake Maverick are not rookies when it comes to the squared circle. Will the NXT newcomers impress with a big victory in their debuts?
Tonight’s main event will feature Finn Balor vs. Velveteen Dream. The former NXT Champion was not happy with Dream calling Adam Cole “The Greatest NXT Champion of all time” and the Ireland native will surely look to prove the former NXT North American Champion wrong tonight.
All this and more is set for tonight’s episode of NXT on USA Network at 8pm Eastern Time. Check out the confirmed matches below:
