Former NJPW Star KUSHIDA Officially Signs With NXT; Shows Up At TAKEOVER: NEW YORK

Last night just before NXT TakeOver: New York got underway, Triple H and William Regal announced that former NJPW and MMA star Yujiro Kushida has officially signed a contract with the black and gold brand.

Former NJPW and MMA star KUSHIDA has officially signed with WWE, and will compete on the NXT brand.

Triple H and William Regal made the announcement during at a contract signing in New York before TakeOver got underway, stating how proud they were to be able to sign “one of the biggest international stars in the world.”

Yujiro Kushida (stylized as KUSHIDA) is best known for his nine year tenure in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he is a former six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He was also the winner of the 2015 and 2017 Best of the Super Juniors tournaments, the 2016 Super J-Cup, and the 2017 Pro Wrestling World Cup.
