Back in November at Takeover: WarGames, Drew McIntyre suffered a torn bicep late in the match after incorrectly taking a hammerlock DDT from the top rope from current NXT champion, Andrade “Cien” Almas.

Before the unexpected injury occurred, many speculated that the former Intercontinental champion would be heading up to the main roster since he lost the title after only capturing it back in August.

Sources now say that McIntyre has been training in the ring at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando this past week. Word had it back then that he would be out until April sometime. This remains pure speculation at this point.

No word yet on whether McIntyre will return back to NXT or debut on the main roster.
