Taynara Conti finally speaks about her release from the WWE.
Like many talents within the promotion several weeks ago, the former NXT talent was released from her contract following her three-year stint with the brand. Conti originally made her debut in WWE during the first-ever Mae Young Classic tournament and even though she was eliminated by Lacey Evans in the first round, the 24-year-old still managed to score a contract with the company.
Conti had wrestled for both NXT and NXT UK, and while she fought names such as Nikki Cross, Candace LeRae, and Toni Storm, the Brazilian was mostly used as enhancement talent in the developmental brand.
It was reported back in January by Fightful that the NXT star had a disagreement with officials backstage and walked out during a meeting, signaling the end of her time with the company. During a recent video uploaded by the former WWE superstar, Conti somewhat confirms those reports by making it clear that she wasn’t happy with her progress within the promotion and asked for her release at one point:
“I asked for my release about 2 months ago and they were not able to give it to me by then and I had no option but to try again. Then in the middle of the pandemic, I got a call ‘Hey Tay, goodbye!’ They released me.”
The former NXT star states that she’s looking forward to the future and plans on wrestling in the independent circuit. Check out the full video below:
