Who will challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship?
Since Jacy Jayne’s shocking title win several weeks ago, every woman on the roster has been gunning for an opportunity to face the new NXT Women’s Champion. Ava came up with an eliminator tournament to determine the next challenger for the prestigious belt.
Tonight, four of those tournament matches will take place.
Perhaps the most interesting one is Jordynne Grace vs. Lola Vice; the former was a TNA Knockouts Champion, so Grace knows what it’s like to be a world champion. However, the NXT star has failed to capture the NXT Women’s title on two separate occasions. Still, Grace has the advantage based on experience and size.
Vice has come a long way since her early days in NXT. The NXT star is on the cusp of something great, and this tournament could finally be her breakout moment. Will the experienced Grace get the expected win? Or will Lola Vice shock the world and pin a former world champion?
Another intriguing match is Kelani Jordan vs. Lash Legend. Jordan has been on a slump since losing the NXT North American title. However, Jordan shouldn’t be discounted since she’s the one who with tons more experience than Lash Legend.
On the other hand, Legend has vastly improved within a year. Though she’s yet to win any belt in NXT, it wouldn’t be a surprise if she wins one very soon due to how quickly she’s developing in-between the ropes. Will tonight be another fumble for Kelani Jordan? Or will Lash Legend lose and prove that she still has some work to do?
The eliminator tournament isn’t the only match on the show. Blake Monroe has finally arrived and she’s coming after the NXT Womens’ title as well. The former AEW and Stardom talent must first make it official, as Monroe is scheduled to sign her contract live on tonight’s show.
Also in action, TNA World Champion Trick Williams will team with First Class (AJ Francis and KC Navarro) to take on Elijah, Josh Briggs, and Yoshiki Inamura. First Class and Williams have been slowly building a relationship in the past couple of weeks. Francis has helped Trick retain the TNA World title; Can First Class and Trick Williams function as a proper unit? Or will the egos of all three men boil over?
