We've been waiting on this for months, but last night's NXT No Mercy finally saw Giulia make her long-awaited WWE debut. That came after Roxanne Perez successfully defended the NXT Women's Championship against Jaida Parker.
Perez didn't get much time to celebrate because the lights went out after the match, prompting Giulia to hit the ring. She stared Perez down, likely setting the stage for the two women to clash at the next NXT PLE.
Early plans had called for Giulia to face Perez at NXT Heatwave earlier this year, only for that to be derailed when she suffered a broken wrist.
The Japanese wrestling star had her last match overseas earlier this summer and, around that time, opened up on why she's decided to sign with WWE (we'd imagine AEW was also very interested in signing her).
"I made this decision after worrying about it for a long time, so now I have an unshakable determination," she said. "I will definitely become big and create a revolution over there in order to do something that no one has done before. I am sure that the audience that was at that venue [of the WWE Japan show] is in Japan."
Giulia added, "In order to attract those people, I am now in a place where I need to actually work on more specific issues and make improvements. However, I am still too small to make my opinions known, so I will absorb many things over there, and I will definitely make the world a better place. And I will make Japanese women’s wrestling, which I love, bigger."
Giulia has been wrestling since 2017, first in Ice Ribbon and then later with World Wonder Ring STARDOM in 2019. There, she became one of the promotion's top stars and is a one-time World of STARDOM Champion.
The newly signed NXT Superstar then joined Rossy Ogawa's new Marigold promotion in April and worked regularly with the company until her final match on August 25.
