Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner are the new NXT Tag-Team Champions.

The Imperium members challenged the makeshift team of Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher, who is standing in for Pete Dunne as one half of the black and gold brand's tag-champs. At one point, Riddle inadvertently knocked his partner off the ring apron, and Thatcher walked away, leaving The King of Bros vulnerable to a double-team attack.

Riddle later faced Thatcher in the main event, and it was a very hard-hitting affair. These guys have battled it out many times on the independent scene, and it showed. Thatcher is a ground-and-pound machine and very nearly forced Riddle to tap out to his Fujiwara Armbar. However, Matt outsmarted his overzealous opponent and scored the victory with a rollup.

Timothy, now a vicious heel, attacked Riddle after the match and locked on the armbar again.

This has the makings of a great feud, and we could be in for some terrific matches over the next few weeks.
