Io Shirai And Candice LeRae Stole The Show At NXT TAKEOVER: TORONTO In A Vicious Grudge Match

Io Shirai emerged as the next top Superstar on the NXT women's roster last night after a blistering performance at TakeOver: Toronto. Of course, she had the perfect opponent in Candice LeRae.

Both women pulled out all the stops in a very exciting grudge match that arguably stole the show - and on a TakeOver card, that's really saying something.

Tenacious C put up a great fight and came close to securing a victory, but there was only ever going to be one winner. When The Genius of the Sky's patented moonsalt didn't get the job done, she locked on a vicious modified triangle choke which almost rendered LeRae unconscious before the ref stopped the match.

Apparently, Vince McMahon is now a big fan of Io's, and it's not hard to see why. Let's just hope she doesn't wind up on the main roister as a third Kabuki Warrior.
