We recently found out that former champion Aleister Black would need surgery after suffering an injury at an NXT live event, which obviously made his participation in the TakeOver: Brooklyn triple-threat championship match very unlikely.

Now, we're hearing that Black has indeed been removed from the bout, and NXT is currently planning on making it a singles match with new champ Tommaso Ciampa defending against his old friend Johnny Gargano.

Although these two will no doubt tear the house down (again), fans have seen them go one-on-one multiple times now, so it's a shame a third Superstar won't take Black's place.

Anyway, this is just a rumor for now, so perhaps we'll find out more later on tonight.
