Johnny Gargano Is No Longer Able To Compete At NXT TAKEOVER: WARGAMES Due To Injury

During last night's episode of WWE Backstage, Ryan Satin confirmed that Johnny Gargano is injured and unable to compete at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. That means his rumoured match with Finn Balor will not be taking place and, as a result, we've lost out on a MOTY contender.

Satin notes that Gargano is dealing with a neck injury, so it's easy to see why the company is playing it safe with his health. He's only actually competed in a handful of matches this year and has been kept off live events and saved for TakeOver shows instead.

WWE never announced the match but Balor vs. Gargano seemed highly unlikely given the way things were heading. It's hard to imagine the Prince not being part of the show but WWE will obviously have to go back to the drawing board to find something new for him to do now.

As always, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated as we learn more.
