Johnny Gargano is the first ever 2-time NXT North American Champion after defeating Damien Priest in a Devil's Playground Match at Halloween Havoc.

Host Shotzi Blackheart spun the wheel to determine the stipulation, giving both competitors the use of various weapons in what was basically a no DQ falls count anywhere match. The Archer of Infamy used his size and strength advantage to lay a brutal beat-down on Johnny Wrestling, who hit back with sporadic bursts of offence.

After fighting all over the PC, Priest looked to have things in the bag when he set up The Reckoning on top of the ramp, but he was attacked from behind by a mysterious figure in a Ghostface costume, allowing Gargano to smash a tombstone over his head and send him crashing to the ground. He then crawled over and made the pin to become the new NA Champion.

A somewhat surprising outcome, but an argument could be made that Priest did run out of strong heel challengers, so it may make more sense for him to be the one chasing the title.

As for Gargano... well, his heel run hasn't been particularly well received, but at least now he'll be even more insufferable?
