Well, that DIY reunion didn't last long!

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa put their differences aside to take on Ricochet and Aleister Black in the semifinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic, but things didn't go their way when Gargano appeared to go down with a knee injury. After attempting to do it himself (no pun), the NXT Champion was pinned, sending their opponents into the final.

That wasn't the biggest story of the night, however, as Johnny was feigning his injury.

After Ciampa helped his partner up the ramp, he went to ram him into the screen just as he did when he first betrayed him over a year ago. However, Gargano stopped his attack short before turning the tables and taking him out with a brutal superkick.

It appears NXT was building towards another championship feud between these two, but now that Ciampa is on the shelf while he recovers from neck surgery, that's obviously going to have to be revamped.
