We all knew Finn Balor's time had come, and sure enough, The Prince was dethroned in the co-main event of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver Night 2 after a terrific match with Karrion Kross.

Balor started out strong, laughing off Kross' initial flurry of offence. The Irishman actually managed to take his opponent into that deep water he spoke about, but the bigger man's lethal combination of power, stamina and striking ability simply proved to be too much to handle.

Finn worked over the surgically repaired shoulder, locking in several submission holds. He then hit the Coup de Gras for a near fall, but never got the chance to land his 1916 DDT because Kross unleashed two Doomsday Saito suplexes and followed up with that devastating elbow strike to the back of the head to claim victory.

Where does this leave Balor? The hope among fans is that he will eventually challenge for the title again in his Demon persona, but for the time being, the NXT Championship is in the very dangerous hands of Karrion Kross, and we don't see anyone taking it away from him any time soon.
