Although the match was pre-taped, NXT fans got to see former NJPW and MMA star Yujiro Kushida (stylized as KUSHIDA) compete in his first televised match for the black-and-gold brand this past Wednesday.
KUSHIDA faced-off against Kassius Ohno, and while the bigger man dominated much of the match, the Japanese Superstar was ultimately able to wear The Knockout Artist down and force a tap-out victory with his lethal Hover-board Lock submission.
KUSHIDA is best known for his nine year tenure in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he is a former six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He was also the winner of the 2015 and 2017 Best of the Super Juniors tournaments, the 2016 Super J-Cup, and the 2017 Pro Wrestling World Cup.
