KUSHIDA and the Velveteen Dream have been taking every opportunity to launch sneak attacks on each other ever since the latter laid a post-match beating on the one-time New Japan star earlier this year, and they'll soon get the chance to settle things once and for all.

It was announced earlier today that the controversial Dream will go one-on-one with the Time Splitter next month at NXT TakeOver.

Velveteen turned heel when he first attacked KUSHIDA, but the master of the Hoverboard Lock has also been showing a far more aggressive side since, so we should be in for a very exciting, hard-hitting encounter.

Expect whoever comes out on top to set their sights on Damien Priest's North American Championship.

Here are the rest of the confirmed matches for NXT TakeOver 31 on October 2:

NXT Championship Match – Finn Balor (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly

NXT Women’s Championship Match – Io Shirai (c) vs. Candice LeRae

NXT North American Championship Match – Damian Priest (c) vs. Johnny Gargano
