Kyle O'Reilly Wins Gauntlet Elimination Match; Will Face Finn Balor For The NXT Title At TAKEOVER

Kyle O'Reilly has booked his ticket to TakeOver with a huge win in last night's first ever Gauntlet Elimination Match, and will go on to face Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at next month's PPV event.

This was basically an Elimination Chamber match without the Chambers, and nobody was pinned or submitted before all five Superstars were in the ring. KUSHIDA went out first thanks to interference from Velveteen Dream, followed by Reed and Thatcher, leaving O'Reilly and Grimes as the last men standing.

These guys had a terrific encounter (we'd like to see a feud at some point), but Kyle was ultimately able to force a submission with a heel-hook. Most assumed we'd see Bronson Reed walk away with the victory here, but it's great to see O'Reilly elevated to main event status.

After the match, Adam Cole and Roderick Strong joined O'Reilly in the ring to celebrate, and Balor emerged to stare - and point - down his TakeOver opponent.
