Last month, we got word that WWE was interested in working with Serena Deeb - who fans will no doubt remember as the bald-headed member of CM Punk's Straight Edge Society many years ago - following her gutsy performance in The Mae Young Classic.

At the time we were led to believe that Deeb would be returning as an in-ring competitor, but it doesn't look like that'll be the case.

WWE has officially announced that the popular independent star will actually join the NXT brand as a trainer for the women's division.

The NXT Women’s division has only been around for a few years, but as the springboard for the Women’s Evolution, its legend already looms large. That’s where Serena Deeb comes in. A former acolyte of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society (you might remember her getting her head shaved in the middle of the ring), Deeb resurfaced as a competitor in last summer’s Mae Young Classic and was recently named the newest Women’s coach at the WWE Performance Center.

Of course, Serena could also appear on TV as a wrestler at some point down the line, but for now she'll be sharing her wealth of experience with NXT's up-and-coming crop of female Superstars.
