Could we see new NXT Tag Team Champions?
For the prestigious titles, Nathan Frazer and Axiom will defend them against Out The Mud’s Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. This is the sixth title defense for Frazer and Axiom; who haven’t lost a tag team match since August 13, 2024. However, while the duo has been doing tremendous work as a tag team, there’s been some tension between the two over the past couple of weeks.
Out The Mind’s luck is starting to turn over. Nima and Price didn’t particularly have a great 2024, especially in the final months. That was until the big contenders match that saw the duo pull off a surprise victory. The young tag team is hungry to become the next NXT Tag Team Champions, though it surely won’t be an easy feat since Out The Mind previously lost to Frazer and Axiom back in March. Have the challengers learned from their mistakes? Or will Frazer and Axiom prove once again why they’re considered the best tag team in WWE right now?
Last week, Stephanie Vaquer earned her number one contender’s status by beating Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, and Cora Jade. But Shotzi pinned the Women’s North American Champion in a six-woman tag team match. In order to determine the true contender, the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions will square up against the newcomer. Vaquer has yet to lose a singles match since joining NXT in July. It’s only a matter of time before the former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion wins a title in the developmental brand; but the question is, will Shotzi take away that opportunity on tonight’s NXT?
Also, expect to hear from the new NXT Champion Oba Femi. How will the 2025 Iron Survivor winner celebrate his first night in NXT as the top dog of the developmental brand?
