Get ready for evil on January 6th.
This past weekend, NXT hosted their final pay-per-view special in 2020 that saw Team Candice get a strong win over Team Shotzi thanks to Raquel Gonzalez, Johnny Gargano becoming the first-ever three-time North American Champion, and The Undisputed Era beating The Kings of NXT (Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch).
Sunday’s special also confirmed an event that will be taking place on Wednesday, January 6th, which is called “New Year’s Evil”:
At the moment, there’s nothing confirmed for the special event that follows the two-night Wrestle Kingdom 15 show. However, with the recent tease of former NXT Champion Killer Kross making his return, it’s possible that a couple of surprises will take place on the black-and-gold brand.
This past year, AEW had a special New Year’s show that saw Cody Rhodes vs. Darby Allin, a four-way AEW Women’s Championship match, and The Elite (The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega) vs. Death Triangle (The Lucha Bros. & PAC). There’s no word on whether AEW is planning to have another New Year’s event.
