Here is a breakdown of the results from tonight's episode of NXT for April 4, 2018:
— Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne vs. The Authors of Pain ended in a no-contest with interference from Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly. After the match, William Regal declared that at TakeOver: New Orleans, there would be a Triple Threat match with both the Dusty Rhodes cup and the NXT Tag Team Championship on the line.
— Kairi Sane defeated Vanessa Borne by pinfall.
— Lacey Evans tells interviewers that Regal is giving opportunities to "complete psychos" like Nikki Cross and societal trash, meanwhile she's showing what a strong woman is capable of. She runs down Ember Moon, Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane as well.
— Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly complain to Regal about Cole having to pull double duty at TakeOver, saying it isn't fair. Regal says they have three options: 1) Cole can compete in both options, 2) O'Reilly can compete by himself, or 3) Cole can fight for the tag titles and relinquish his spot in the North American Championship match.
— Killian Dain vs. Lars Sullivan ended in a no-contest when the other four members of the North American Championship match come out and all pose down in the ring.
The next episode of NXT television will be taped before TakeOver: New Orleans and will likely feature content from WrestleMania Axxess along with recaps of what happens at TakeOver itself.
Right now, the only match announced in advance is Kairi Sane vs. Lacey Evans.
The current and likely finalized card for TakeOver: New Orleans is as follows:
- NXT Championship Match: Andrade "Cien" Almas (c) vs. Aleister Black
- NXT Women's Championship Match: Ember Moon (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
- NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match and Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: The Undisputed Era (c) vs. Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong vs. The Authors of Pain
- NXT North American Championship Ladder Match: Adam Cole vs. EC3 vs. Killian Dain vs. Lars Sullivan vs. Ricochet vs. The Velveteen Dream
- Unsanctioned Match: Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa
