A major spanner may have been thrown into the works for #DIY this weekend as they prepare to square off with The Authors of Pain at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in a Ladder Match for the NXT Tag Team Championships. That is because it's believed that Tommaso Ciampa was injured at an NXT Live Event in Highland Heights, Kentucky on Thursday.

Teaming with his partner Johnny Gargano, the duo took on
SAnitY and Ciampa was seemingly injured when he went for his signature flying knee off the apron. Upon landing, he immediately started yelling and the referee immediately called off the match and three up the dreaded "X" arm gesture. Ciampa was reportedly heard yelling "Get me the f**k out of here" as he was helped to the back hopping on one leg.

No updates have been provided on his condition and it's possible Ciampa will be able to make it this Saturday, but it's not looking good. Assuming he can't compete, WWE will need to act fast in order to find a new team to battle for the NXT Tag Team Championships in the Windy City.
