NXT has once again taken the lead in the Wednesday night "ratings war," topping All Elite Wrestling in overall viewership.
786,000 people tuned in to WWE's black and gold brand this week, which is a steady climb from last week's week's viewership of 746,000. In the 18-49 demographic, NXT scored a .19. AEW, meanwhile, managed to draw in 633,000 viewers, which is a massive drop from last week's 772,000. Dynamite did beat NXT in the 18-49 demo with a .22, but these are actually the fledgling promotion's lowest ever viewership numbers.
Truth be told, neither episode was particularly eventful this week, but NXT did have a distinct advantage over Dynamite with it's North American Championship Triple-Threat Match involving Keith Lee, Finn Balor and Johnny Gargano. AEW didn't have any title bouts to promote, and relied on a face-off between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy to get eyes on the final segment.
Both promotions have 2-week events starting next Wednesday (AEW's Fyter Fest and NXT's The Great American Bash), so it's going to be very interesting to see who comes out on top when all is said and done.
