NXT Deadline set the benchmark for what’s to come.
This past Saturday, NXT’s final pay-per-view of the year saw Trick Williams overcome a neck injury and beat Ridge Holland to retain the NXT Championship. However, there’s no rest for the NXT Champion since his next challenger is a man who has quickly become one of the biggest stars in the developmental brand: Oba Femi.
Oba Femi dominated the North American division earlier this year and came back strong at Deadline by pinning Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer at the same time. Femi and Williams aren’t scheduled to fight tonight, but the 2024 Iron Survivor winner will address his future and the NXT title. Are Trick Williams days as NXT Champion numbered?
Roxanne Perez has held the NXT Women’s Championship for an incredible 248 days. She’s beaten Lyra Valkyria, Jordynne Grace, Thea Hail, Lola Vice, and the 2024 Iron Survivor winner, Giulia. However, that win came with some controversy as Cora Jade helped Perez retain her championship. Now that Giulia has a second chance at beating Roxanne Perez, how will the champion respond to a challenger who came seconds away from becoming the new NXT Women’s Champion the first time?
Gigi Dolin is on a roll after her return several weeks ago following a long injury layoff. The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion won her return match against Izzi Dame last week, and now she has a chance to get her revenge against Jacy Jayne and Jasmine Nyx. Will Gigi Dolin’s momentum continue to rise?
Once again, former NXT Champion Ethan Page failed to regain the chance at getting a crack at the NXT title. It took four matches for Page to win the NXT Championship, but it’s been all downhill for Mr. Ego since he dropped the belt back to Trick Williams on the CW premiere of NXT.
