PROGRESS Wrestling star IIja Dragunov has reportedly signed with WWE.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the Russian wrestler will be heading to the NXT UK brand, though conflicting reports say he’s going down to the Performance Center in Florida. While this is great news for fans who want to see Dragunov on the UK roster, the news may affect Dragunov’s remaining appearances on the indie circuit.

Dragunov will no longer appear for the UK promotion Defiant. It was reported back in December that the company gave strict restrictions to where their UK talent could work and it appears that might be at play here.

He is still booked for Wrestle Gate and Joey Janela’s WrestleMania weekend show, but that may end up changing soon.
