We have a new NXT Women's Champion, and she's a bloody Nightmare!

23-year-old Rhea Ripley defeated Shayna Baszler tonight on NXT to claim the gold and end the Submission Magician's incredible 416 day reign as champion. It was not an easy task, however, and Baszler came very close to retaining after injuring Rhea's arm early on with a foot stomp on the steel steps and capitalizing on repeated interference from the Horsewomen.

In the end, Shayna locked on her Kirifuda Clutch and that looked like all she wrote. Ripley was ultimately able to fight her way out, however, and managed to hit a Riptide from the top rope to pick up the pinfall victory.

Congratulations to Rhea, and we look forward to the inevitable rematch!
