Samoa Joe Becomes 3-Time NXT Champion At NXT TAKEOVER 36 As Karrion Kross Heads To WWE Main Roster

Samoa Joe finally returned to action during last night's NXT TakeOver 36 event for a match that saw Karrion Kross put his NXT Championship on the line.

With the latter part of RAW now, we expected him to drop the title and that's exactly what happened. It was an exciting back and forth match, and one that saw both men very nearly secure the win at different points. Joe locked in the STF crossface late in the match, but Kross got his foot on the bottom rope.

However, after a dominant few minutes, Joe turning things around and hit the Muscle Buster for the 1-2-3.

With that, he became the first 3-time NXT Champion, but with WWE about to make sweeping changes to the show, who knows where he'll end up fitting into that.
