Several Big Matches Added To Next Week's NXT NEW YEAR'S EVIL Show

The first NXT of 2025 is set to be huge as several new matches have been added to next week's New Year's Evil show in Los Angeles, California.

New Year’s Evil just gotten bigger.

NXT is making sure to start off 2025 with a bang by delivering a Takeover worthy card. Heading into Tuesday’s show, it was already confirmed that Roxanne Perez would defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Iron Survivor Winner Giulia. Trick Williams vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Oba Femi was also set in stone. However, the developmental brand added several matches to round out the first card.

In a rematch for the Heritage Cup, Lexis King has a chance to regain it from Charlie Dempsey. The second-generation star was forced to hand back the cup to Ava on Tuesday because of the controversial ending, but the NXT General Manager made the decision to put King and Dempsey in a sudden death match to determine the Heritage Cup winner next week.

A big number one contender’s match has been confirmed as Cora Jade, Stephanie Vaquer, Lola Vice, and Kelani Jordan will fight for the opportunity to challenge Fallon Henley for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. This is an interesting match-up due to Jordan’s character development as of late. She’s feuding with Cora Jade, but isn’t too fond of Vaquer and Vice right now either.

Speaking of Fallon Henley, her and Fatal Influence (Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne) have been a real pain for the women on the NXT roster. Shotzi surprised everyone by making her return several weeks ago to help Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin take out Fatal Influence. Now the babyface trio has the opportunity to put a stop to the heel faction as a six-woman tag has been confirmed for New Year’s Evil.

Check out the advertised line-up below for NXT’s first show in 2025:

  • NXT Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs. Oba Femi vs. Eddy Thorpe
  • NXT Women's Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Giulia
  • NXT Women's North American Championship Number One Contenders Match: Cora Jade vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan
  • NXT Heritage Cup Sudden Death: Lexis King (c) vs. Charlie Dempsey
  • Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx, & Jacy Jayne) vs. Shotzi, Tatum Paxley, and Gigi Dolin
