It's rare that we get to see an NXT title defended on a WWE PPV (I'm pretty sure the last time was the Beast in the East PPV when Finn Balor defended the NXT Championship against Kevin Owens) but with WWE holding the first-ever all-women's PPV last night in Evolution, Kairi Sane ended up putting her NXT women's title on the line against Shayna Baszler in a terrific back and forth match.
It was every bit as good as we've come to expect from these women and a fantastic way to introduce RAW and SmackDown Live viewers to two women guaranteed to be future top stars down the line.
Near the end of the match, two more members of the Four Horsewomen got involved when Baszler was thrown into Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Sane ended up taking a kick from Duke which the referee missed and found herself locked in her opponent's rear choke. Despite trying to fight out of it, she was forced to tap and Baszler become the only women to with the NXT Women's title twice!
