SPOILERS: Original Plans For The MAE YOUNG CLASSIC 2018 Finals Have Been Revealed
We already know which two wrestlers made it to the finals of the Mae Young Classic and will compete at the first ever all-women's Evolution event, but the plan was originally very different. SPOILERS ahead...
Warning, major SPOILERS for the Mae Young Classic 2018 follow.
So, we know it's going to be Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm at the Evolution PPV event this October to determine the winner of the Mae Young Classic - but that wasn't always the plan. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Tegan Nox, a.k.a. Nixon Newell, was originally slated to be a part of the finals before suffering a debilitating leg injury during her quarterfinal match against Rhea Ripley.
Nox also missed last year’s MYC due to injury, so this is obviously an awful situation for the 23-year-old Welsh wrestler and her fans. However, Nox won't be injured forever, and it's clear that WWE is very high on her, which can only mean good things for her in the future.
