The Velveteen Dream returned to action after 5 months on the shelf in the main even of NXT this week, and after a back-and-forth match with The Undisputed Era's Roderick Strong, he was able to secure a victory. However, the rest of the UE ensured that the celebration was short-lived.

That bout itself was... okay. Dream is an explosive, charismatic talent, but his ring work has never really been his strongest attribute, and his time away doesn't seem to have helped matters. There were a few sloppy exchanges early on, but things did come together in the end for an exciting finish, as The Sartorial Superstar was able to hit his rolling death valley driver for the win.

As soon as the bell rang, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly rushed the ring and delivered a beat-down to Strong's opponent.
