Tiffany Stratton On Why "Daddy's Little Rich Girl" Gimmick Was Dropped And Jade Cargill's Rumored WWE Debut

NXT Superstar Tiffany Stratton has finally revealed why her "Daddy's Little Rich Girl" gimmick was dropped, while she also weighs in on Jade Cargill's leap to WWE and a possible match with Charlotte Flair.

Tiffany Stratton recently lost the NXT Women's Championship to Becky Lynch, but they'll square off again at this Saturday's No Mercy PLE.

She's become one of the developmental brand's top stars and is clearly destined for big things on WWE's main roster. Of course, near the start of her run, Stratton's character was quite a bit different thanks to a somewhat bizarre "Daddy's Little Rich Girl" gimmick.

Talking to WrestlingNews.co, Stratton was asked why that was dropped. "In the beginning, I was kind of like Daddy's little rich girl. I kind of just was like, I want to get on TV," she recalls. "And, you know, this was kind of like, new and different, I guess. So I pitched it. It stuck."

"And it works for a little bit until they're like, 'We don't have a daddy for you,'" Stratton added. "'So you're not daddy's little rich girl.'"

During the same conversation, the former champion was also asked about potentially squaring off with Charlotte Flair down the line.

"Charlotte Flair, honestly, she's part of the reason why I got into wrestling. She was the first women's wrestler that I saw on my TV screen, and when I saw her I was immediately just taken aback by someone who was so beautiful, was so strong, could do all the flips and the gymnastics and I thought it was so cool. So I think Charlotte Flair is definitely a huge dream match for me."

Stratton vs. Flair isn't the only "dream match" fans have been discussing of late because with former AEW star Jade Cargill rumoured to be on her way to WWE, there are plenty of possible opponents for the formerly undefeated TBS Champion.

"Yeah, for sure," Stratton said of Cargill's possible leap to WWE. "Bring her on in. I don't know much about her, but I've seen photos of her and she's beautiful. But yeah, I'm not sure what's really going on there. So I guess we'll see."

Rumour has it Cargill will go straight to WWE's main roster, bypassing NXT entirely. Time will tell on that front, though it surely won't be long until Stratton joins her on RAW or SmackDown
