This week's special "Super Tuesday" episode of NXT featured the historic 4-way Ironman match everyone is still talking about, but we also got a match with North American Championship connotations as Bronson Reed went one-on-one with Timothy Thatcher.

This match was as physical as you'd expect, with Thatcher working over the bigger man's arm in an attempt to force a submission, and Reed using his raw power to keep the "Thatch as Thatch can" specialist at bay. In the end, though, outside interference proved to be the difference maker.

Austin Theory, who recently returned to the black and gold brand and immediately got into a confrontation with Reed, attacked the Thicc Boi from behind, allowing Thatcher to lock on a vicious armbar and force the tap-out victory.

This obviously sets up Reed vs. Theory at some point down the line, but we can also expect Thatcher to emerge as the first challenger for Damien Priest's NA title.
