Tommaso Ciampa Returns At NXT TAKEOVER: PHILADELPHIA And Lays Out Former Partner Johnny Gargano

As if losing a superb main event title match to champ Andrade "Cien" Almas wasn't enough, Johnny Gargano ended up being attacked from behind by the returning Tommaso Ciampa as he made his way back up the ramp.

After being on the shelf with an injury for quite a while, Tommaso Ciampa made his return to NXT in dramatic fashion tonight at Takeover: Philadelphia.

The ruthless "Blackheart" attacked his former DIY partner Johnny Gargano on the ramp by walloping him in the back with a crutch, immediately after Gargano had competed against NXT Champion Andrade Almas in what many are already hailing as the match of the year.

This is obviously revisiting the feud that was cut short by Ciampa's injury, and we should expect to see these former friends lock-up in the very near future.

As exciting as that prospect is, we are still a bit devastated that Johnny Wrestling didn't win the title tonight. Let's hope he gets another shot soon... provided there's anything left of him!
