Could the new year mark a new champion?

Trick Williams will be defending his NXT Championship for the fourth time against his toughest challengers to date. The 30-year-old has had an incredible year that’s been capped off with two NXT title reigns.

But Oba Femi opened the eyes of plenty of WWE fans in 2024. The dominant North American Champion has been a force to be reckoned with in NXT and his impressive Iron Survivor win gives him some serious momentum heading into his championship match at New Year’s Evil.

But Eddy Thorpe’s sneaky and cunning tactics at getting an NXT title shot make him just as dangerous as Femi. Thorpe does own a victory over Trick Williams as their first NXT title match ended in a double pin; plus, he’s been the last man standing whenever he’s been in the ring with Trick Williams and Oba Femi. Could we start off 2025 with a new NXT Champion? Or will Trick Williams overcome the odds once again?

In a highly anticipated rematch, Giulia has won a second chance to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship. The Iron Survivor Winner was on the cusp of beating Perez back in October, but Cora Jade dashed any hopes of Giulia becoming the next NXT Women’s Champion.

Despite being seconds away from defeat, Roxanne Perez is on an incredible title run. The two-time champion has held the belt for over 275 days; successfully beating Chelsea Green, Natalya, Lola Vice, and Jordynne Grace. Roxanne Perez knows how to get the job done, will she find a way to beat Giulia for the second time? Or is her time as NXT Women’s Champion over?

Check out the advertised line-up for tonight’s NXT New Year’s Evil special:

  • Trick Williams vs. Oba Femi vs. Eddy Thorpe in a Triple Threat for the NXT Championship
  • Roxanne Perez vs. Giulia for the NXT Women’s Championship
  • Lexis King vs. Charlie Dempsey for the NXT Heritage Cup with sudden death rules
