NXT Battleground saw a couple of surprises.
One of them in Trick Williams becoming the first contracted WWE wrestler to win the TNA World Championship. But NXT moves forward with two championship matches.
Ricky Saints and Ethan Page had one hell of a match at Stand & Deliver that saw the former successfully beat Page. But the former NXT Champion just couldn’t let go of the notion that Ricky Saints was a better man than him. Saints and Page will battle once again for the prestigious belt; can Saints put this feud to rest with another victory? Or will Ethan Page prove that Ricky was just a one-hit wonder?
In the second championship match, Stephanie Vaquer is reeling from the incredible fight she had against Jordynne Grace at Battleground. Coming in, Vaquer isn’t exactly 100% and Jacy Jayne will have no problems exposing that glaring weakness. The Fatal Influence member has yet to win singles gold. In fact, Jayne hasn’t won a singles match in NXT since March. But the NXT star is looking to prove her worth in the women's division by capturing the NXT Women’s title. Can Jacy Jayne pull off the upset victory and beat her arch-nemesis Stephanie Vaquer?
Also, TNA’s Mike Santana will make his NXT debut tonight against Tavion Heights. The TNA star is an accomplished vet who hasn’t lost a singles match since March and even then, the way he lost was in a flukey manner. Can Santana bring his success over to the developmental brand?
