Tonight's episode of NXT will shape the main card for next month's TakeOver.

Finn Balor's work as champion is just getting started as the "Prince" of the black-and-gold brand will defend his belt for the first time on Oct. 4. The question is, who will get the title opportunity at the upcoming pay-per-view, Kushida, Cameron Grimes, Kyle O’Reilly, Timothy Thatcher or Bronson Reed?

A new challenger will step forward to take on Io Shirai at the Oct. 4 event as Aliyah, Kayden Carter, Kacy Catanzaro, Xia Li, Candice LeRae, Tegan Nox, Rhea Ripley, and Dakota Kai will fight in a Battle Royal to determine a new No. 1 contender. Will former NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley finally get her match against Io Shirai for the belt? Or will a newcomer such as Aliyah or Kayden Carter pull off a big win tonight?

Expect appearances from The Undisputed Era, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, and NXT North American Champion Damian Priest on the latest episode of NXT. Check out the advertised matches below:
