This coming Wednesday's episode of NXT will boast a unique theme as WWE looks to counter program All Elite Wrestling's two-week Fyter Fest broadcast on TNT. After using In Your House for a recent NXT TakeOver event, these next shows will be based on The Great American Bash, a concept used in the past for main roster PPVs.

A number of matches have been announced by WWE, including a handicap match pitting Rhea Ripley against Aliyah and Robert Stone, Dexter Lumis vs. Roderick Strong in a Strap match, and Mia Yim vs. Tegan Nox vs. Candice LeRae vs. Dakota Kai with the winner getting a shot at the NXT Women's Championship.

Now, though, Women's Tag Team  Champion Sasha Banks has challenged Io Shirai to a match at "The Great American Bash," presumably with the title on the line. Using a main roster star like this is clearly WWE's way of trying to top what AEW has planned, and it will be interesting seeing whether it works out for the company. After all, AEW continues to beat NXT in terms of ratings most weeks.
