The latest edition of WWE NXT for January 6, 2021 took place from the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

Note: The NXT Fight Pit Match that was scheduled to take place between Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa has been put on hold due to an injury Thatcher suffered while training. William Regal announced that it will happen at some point in the future when Thatcher has been medically cleared to compete.

— Karrion Kross defeated Damian Priest by pinfall.

— Most of the teams for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic were announced. Adam Cole and Roderick Strong of The Undisputed ERA will face Breezango next week. Other teams that were confirmed are August Grey and Curt Stallion, Drake Maverick and Killian Dain, Ever-Rise, Grizzled Young Veterans and Imperium (Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner).

— Santos Escobar defeated Gran Metalik by pinfall to retain the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

— Xia Li defeated Katrina Cortez by pinfall.

— Raquel Gonzalez defeated Rhea Ripley in a Last Woman Standing match.

— After a promo from The Way in which they announced Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano would be the last team of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Kushida and Shotzi Blackheart beat Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae by pinfall in a mixed tag team match.

— Finn Balor defeated Kyle O'Reilly by submission to retain the NXT Championship.
