The latest edition of WWE NXT for April 22, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Finn Balor was originally scheduled to face Velveteen Dream, but after a locker room incident, he was taken out of the match. Dream cut a promo about Balor's absence and was interrupted by Adam Cole, then attacked by Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish and Cole until Keith Lee came out to help fight them off.

— Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez defeated Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox by pinfall.

— Jake Atlas defeated Drake Maverick by pinfall to advance in the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament (Group A)

— Kushida defeated Tony Nese by submission to advance in the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament (Group A)

— Mia Yim defeated Jessi Kamea by pinfall.

— El Hijo del Fantasma defeated Gentleman Jack Gallagher by pinfall to advance in the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament (Group B)

— Next week, Keith Lee will defend the North American Championship against Damian Priest and Mia Yim will face Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women's Championship.

— In the parking lot after his match, El Hijo del Fantasma was attacked by the two masked men who had abducted Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza. Fantasma fought them off.

— Velveteen Dream and Dexter Lumis defeated Adam Cole and Roderick Strong by pinfall. Keith Lee had been attacked by Damian Priest at the start of the match and ruled unable to compete, and Lumis randomly appeared mid-match to join Dream's side.
