The latest edition of WWE NXT for August 12, 2020 took place from the NXT Arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Karrion Kross defeated Oney Lorcan by submission. Keith Lee came out after the match to present Kross a contract for a title match at TakeOver XXX. After Kross signed it and gave it back, Lee opened it and was hit in the face with a fireball.

— The Undisputed ERA attacked both Drake Maverick and Killian Dain during their match, causing a no-contest. Afterward, Adam Cole cut a passionate promo about how he'll beat Pat McAfee's ass at TakeOver XXX and challenged him to show up to NXT next week.

— Santos Escobar defeated Tyler Breeze by pinfall. After the match, an injured Fandango and Isaiah "Swerve" Scott came out to run Legado del Fantasma away.

— Mia Yim defeated Indi Hartwell by submission

— Bronson Reed defeated Damian Priest by pinfall

— Aliyah and Mercedes Martinez defeated Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter by pinfall. After the match, Rhea Ripley and Shotzi Blackheart fought with Martinez and Aliyah.

— Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae had another in-home vignette about how Candice will teach Tegan Nox to mind her own business and Gargano will beat Ridge Holland next week in their second chance match to qualify for the ladder match at TakeOver 30. Then, he'll win the North American title and take another step forward in fixing NXT.

— Triple Threat Qualifying Match: X Cameron Grimes defeated Kushida and Velveteen Dream by pinfall (on Kushida) to earn a spot in the ladder match at NXT TakeOver XXX for the vacant North American Championship. Dream will be able to compete in a second chance match for one of the final two spots against Finn Balor next week. Johnny Gargano vs. Ridge Holland is the other match. Post-loss, Dream attacked Kushida and Balor came out for a stare down.
