The latest edition of WWE NXT for December 16, 2020 took place from the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano defeated Kushida and Leon Ruff by pinfall.

— Tommaso Ciampa defeated Tyler Rust by pinfall.

— No. 1 Contender's Match: Kyle O'Reilly defeated Pete Dunne by pinfall to earn a shot at Finn Balor's NXT Championship. They will face each other January 6th for NXT New Year's Evil.

— Shotzi Blackheart defeated Indi Hartwell by disqualification as Hartwell hit Blackheart with Candice LeRae's trophy and the referree caught her. Those two, accompanied by Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano laid out Shotzi after the match.

— Karrion Kross defeated Desmond Troy by submission. Kross then challenged Damian Priest to a match for New Year's Evil.

— Toni Storm defeated Rhea Ripley by pinfall with some help from Raquel Gonzalez.
