The latest edition of WWE NXT for December 9, 2020 took place from the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— The show started with a promo from Finn Balor about who will be his next challenger. He was interrupted by Pete Dunne, Kyle O'Reilly and Damian Priest. They all argued with each other about who should get the next shot at the belt and Balor just walked away from them before saying he'll defend the title on January 6th at the NXT New Year's Evil special, but figuring out his opponent isn't his problem. That's William Regal's job. Out came Scarlett to act on behalf of Karrion Kross. Balor told her when Kross is ready, he's ready, too. Priest then told Scarlett if Kross wants a fight, he can step up to him like a man any time.

— Killian Dain attacked Pete Dunne during an interview to set up a match.

— Jake Atlas beat Isaiah "Swerve" Scott by pinfall. Atlas offered a handshake after the match, but Scott refused and walked off angry.

— Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) defeated Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel) and Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) by pinfall with Drake pinning Parker.

— Toni Storm was interviewed about winning at WarGames. She said she's going for the NXT Women's Championship next. Io Shirai came over to her and said she doesn't like her, then started a fight. They went out to the ring, brawling, and Storm tried to run away, but Ember Moon stopped her and tossed her back into the ring, where Shirai landed on her with a moonsault.

— Tommaso Ciampa defeated Cameron Grimes by pinfall even despite interference from Tyler Rust and a distraction attempt from Timothy Thatcher being ringside.

— Boa and Xia Li were shown training more.

— Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae (accompanied by Indi Hartwell and Austin Theory) cut a promo about winning at WarGames. Their faction is called The Way. Damian Priest came out for a fight, but Karrion Kross attacked him.

— Pete Dunne defeated Killian Dain by pinfall

— Backstage, Leon Ruff was asked about his planned match for next week teaming with Damian Priest against Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory. Gargano said after Kross attacked Priest, he probably has no tag team partner. Kushida came by and volunteered to take his place in the fight next week.

— Raquel Gonzalez defeated Ember Moon by pinfall.
