The latest edition of WWE NXT for July 1, 2020 took place from the NXT Arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Tegan Nox defeated Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, and Mia Yim in Fatal 4-Way No. 1 Contender's Elimination Match to become the next challenger for the NXT Women's Championship against Io Shirai

— Timothy Thatcher defeated Oney Lorcan by submission

— Rhea Ripley defeated both Aliyah and Robert Stone in a Handicap Match by submission.

— Dexter Lumis defeated Roderick Strong in a Strap Match by submission.

— Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano got into a fight backstage with Mia Yim and Isaiah "Swerve" Scott that was broken up by officials.

— Drake Maverick interrupted a promo from Santos Escobar, who was (of course) accompanied by Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza. They triple-teamed Maverick until Fandango and Tyler Breeze came out to make the save and help Maverick out. Fandango then said next week, on the second night of The Great American Bash, they'll have nowhere to hide.

— Io Shirai defeated Sasha Banks by pinfall
