The latest edition of WWE NXT for July 22, 2020 took place from the NXT Arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— The show opened with an announcement from Keith Lee that he will be relinquishing the NXT North American Championship, as he won't be able to defend that title as often as he'd like while he focuses on the NXT Championship. To make sure there are plenty of opportunities for everyone else on the roster, he's vacating the title under the condition it is defended regularly and such. William Regal followed that up with the announcement that there will be a series of Triple Threat matches that will determine who competes in a ladder match to crown the new champion, which is set to take place at NXT TakeOver 30 on August 22nd.

— Dexter Lumis defeated Killian Dain by submission.

— Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) defeated Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel) by pinfall.

— Shotzi Blackheart defeated Aliyah (accompanied by Robert Stone) by pinfall. Shotzi then ran over Robert Stone's other leg (the one that wasn't in a boot) with her tank after the match, only to be attacked out of nowhere by Mercedes Martinez.

— Triple Threat Qualifying Match: Bronson Reed defeated Johnny Gargano and Roderick Strong by pinfall to advance to the ladder match at NXT TakeOver XXX.

— Timothy Thatcher defeated Oney Lorcan by pinfall.

— Karrion Kross defeated Dominik Dijakovic by referee stoppage.
