The latest edition of WWE NXT for May 27, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Semifinal Triple Threat Match: Drake Maverick defeated Kushida and Jake Atlas by pinfall on Atlas, who was also tapping out to Kushida at the same time. Maverick will face El Hijo del Fantasma in the finals of the tournament next week.

— Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae cut a promo about how they give opportunities to people who deserve them. Gargano then quickly defeated Adrian Alanis by submission. After that, Keith Lee and Mia Yim parodied the Dinner with the Garganos segments.

— Backstage, Kushida supported Drake Maverick, who told Kushida when he wins the title, he'll give him the first shot.

— Raquel Gonzalez defeated Shotzi Blackheart by pinfall

— Charlotte Flair and Chelsea Green defeated Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai by pinfall

— Adam Cole and William Regal had a meeting over video chat where they agree that Cole will fight Velveteen Dream at TakeOver: In Your House, but if Dream loses, he won't get another shot at the title as long as Cole holds it.

— Tommaso Ciampa defeated Leon Ruff by pinfall.

— Cage Fight: Timothy Thatcher defeated Matt Riddle by submission.
