The latest edition of WWE NXT for May 6, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Johnny Gargano defeated Dominik Dijakovic by pinfall.

— Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium talked some trash about the tag team champions. Later in the night, it was announced they would face Timothy Thatcher and Matt Riddle for the NXT Tag Team Championship next week.

— Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Match: Akira Tozawa defeated Gentleman Jack Gallagher by pinfall.

— Chelsea Green defeated Xia Li by pinfall.

— Karrion Kross defeated Leon Ruff by submission.

— NXT Women's Championship Match: Io Shirai defeated Charlotte Flair by disqualification as Flair used a kendo stick on Shirai. Following that, Rhea Ripley made her return and attacked Flair, who ran off. Shirai then vocalized her frustrations at Ripley, who told her to shut up.

— Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Match: Kushida defeated Jake Atlas by submission.

— Cameron Grimes defeated Denzel Dejournette by pinfall.

— Adam Cole defeated Velveteen Dream by pinfall to retain the NXT Championship.
