With his
stunning KO win over Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night 148 in Nashville on Saturday, MMA star Anthony Pettis joined a very exclusive club. He's now the third fighter to win a bout in the UFC's featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight divisions. The only other two fighters to accomplish that feat are Conor McGregor and Kenny Florian.
McGregor, who is nearing the end of his six-month suspension for his involvement int he UFC 229 post-fight melee last October,
congratulated Pettis on the accomplishment and then added: "Now who f*cking wants it?" It seemed to be a challenge for Pettis who is at least open to the matchup.
"Let's do it. Let's do it," Pettis said in his post-fight interview on ESPN.
"170, 155, I'm not doing 145 again, so I'm with it. That's the fight I think the fans would love to see again too."
Pettis was joined by his coach Duke Roufus, who was also open to the fight.
"I love the Conor McGregor fight," Roufus said.
"Let's do it in Ireland or Vegas in July. I think he did great. Anthony does very well against bigger fighters. He beat Donald Cerrone. He was so close to beating a very tough Tony Ferguson. He's good at fighting big guys."
"I'll fight anybody, anywhere," Pettis added.
