AEW's Chris Jericho Reveals How Little He Was Paid For Headlining A WWE House Show In 2016

If you need further explanation for why Chris Jericho is now part of All Elite Wrestling instead of WWE, look no further than the paltry amount he was paid for headlining a live event opposite Dean Ambrose...

In recent years, we've heard a lot about WWE Superstars receiving shockingly low payoffs for working WWE Live events, but something tells us you'd think a top star like Chris Jericho would earn more than this. Back in 2016, he was headlining these house shows alongside Dean Ambrose (now known as Jon Moxley in All Elite Wrestling), but this particular show in North Carolina may not have been worth the effort.

As you can see below, Jericho revealed that he earned only $750 for main eventing the non-televised event alongside Moxley, a figure which has clearly stuck with the former AEW World Champion.

Now, most of us wouldn't turn our noses up at that amount of money, but given the travelling involved with a WWE Superstar's schedule, this is a pretty abysmal amount. After feuding in WWE, Jericho and Moxley obviously got another chance in AEW, and that's how the latter ended up with the title.

WWE is scaling back on house shows these days due to low attendance and COVID-19, but it will be interesting seeing if any other former WWE Superstars come forward with similar stories...
